Analysis of Relationship between Meteorological Conditions and Ground O3 Levels in Summer Over the Central Kanto Area

چکیده
The increasing trend in ground ozone (O3) concentration has recently been recognized in Japan, though concentrations of ozone precursors have been decreased. It is well known the status of atmospheric has been changing on a long term, not only over the world, but also in Japan. Therefore, one of causes is possibly imagined that is the effect of meteorological conditions. In order to confirm whether the change of meteorological conditions contribute to the Japanese O3 trend we examine the relationship between meteorological factors (e.g., temperature, wind speed) and ground O3 levels concentration over the central Kanto area of Japan using both statistical analysis and numerical models. The nested grid system of numerical experiments which cover a region of Kanto with grid resolutions of 9 km, 3 km, and 1 km respectively, have been employed in this study. The results of analysis show there are close relationships between meteorological conditions and the peak O3 and changes in meteorological conditions may be one of causes leading to the rising O3 concentration levels in this area.

Summer time variation and unexpected nocturnal peak in precursors related Surface ozone concentration in air over a tropical coastal regionof Southern Tamil Nadu, India
Surface ozone (Surface O3)is a secondary pollutant and there are only limited studies on ozone in South India. Studies have revealed a strong correlation between higher ozone levels and warmer days. Surface O3 along with its precursors like NO2, CO and CH4 are being measured at Kanyakumari (8.0780° N, 77.5410° E), TamilNadu, India and in this paper we present the summer time variation of ozone ...

Drought as a natural phenomenon characterized by a significant decrease of water availability during a period of time and over a large area. In recent years, droughts and its frequent in arid and semi-arid regions like Iran on the one hand, and water demand has been rising on the other hand and, as a result, their impacts are being aggravated. Therefore, the meteorological and hydrological...

The Project of Atmospheric Combined Pollution Monitoring over Beijing and its Surrounding Areas, was an intensive field campaign conducted over Northern China between June 2009 and August 2011 to provide a comprehensive record of ozone (O3) and nitrogen oxides (NOx) and contribute to an in-depth understanding of air pollution in Northern China and its driving forces. In this campaign, 25 statio...
متن کاملAnalyzing the Spatial Pattern of Drought in Central and South Zagros Using Remote Sensing Indicators
Introduction: As a complex phenomenon occurring due to a long period of poor precipitation, drought causes water scarcity in the soil and the hydrological system via hydrological, bringing about long-term consequences which may lead to severe economic, environmental, and social problems worldwide. Droughts are classified into four types: meteorological (rainfall), agricultural (soil’s moisture)...
